When we were assigned the task of gathering nighttime shots of Blackrock’s four floor plans, we blocked out the evening hours for two weeks to dedicate to this project. Knowing that potential variables beyond our control could cause havoc at the last minute, we attempted to be proactive as much as possible. We put together a team of 4 gofers to assist our photographer in capturing just-the-right-light and the perfect amount of reflection on the sidewalks and driveways. Our staging efforts included six large pots filled with red and pink geraniums, three garden hoses, duct tape to trick the photocell lights, and a variety of tools to remove signage and other distractions. Several wonderful homeowners graciously helped us when standing model homes weren’t available.
On our first night, we truly hit it out of the park, with a spectacular sunset, brilliant sky, and no wind. But this good fortune did not last, and each of the following nights being a succession of mishaps in some way, shape or form. Sudden storms and w-i-n-d undermined our efforts repeatedly. It seemed like that “perfect window” was a mere minute or two, and then it was all over. However, after several reshoots, a good sense of humor, and some slight editing, our photographer, Greg Scott with New Home Photos, prevailed and we finished the project with four days to spare!
Here’s a look at this gorgeous collection of homes and a few candids, too!
